Romance is in the air, but expectations are soaring high

“We are all born for love. It is the principle of existence, and its only end”. Benjamin Disraeli

For a date the hustled preparation, mounting nervousness, increasing fear, and restlessness of facing the unknown counterpart are some of the common scenarios faced by a new employee on his first day. Despite it all, their high expectations never die. Love, care, security, beauty and compatibility, fulfillment of desires are few out of many on the list. Having expectations is always expected. But how high these expectations soar, its hard to define.

For instance if a man loves a lady and in return the lady didn’t show up that way, then the man is more likely to get disappointed.

The Man-Lady scenario exactly fits in to the new employee’s shoe. Employee enters the organization believing it to be the ideal workplace and considers it to be his future partner. He has lot to unfold and has assortment of anticipations as ambience of relaxation, a place where ideas can flow, creativity is the king and people work together in mutual peacefulness and cooperation.

But all falls shattered within couple of days. The benefitting policies by which he was carried away were all superficial trap to tempt him. Each day he confronts a sour truth and swallows it down. In due course, his sole role and monotonic play starts suffocating him and consequently his productivity declines. This is the kind of bond to which employee combats in his working hours and tries to survive through.

It’s just like expecting a barbeque but served with vegetable platter.

Hence retaining and sustaining the employee is the grave problem faced by the organization.

Mutual efforts are to be channelized to create an IDEAL WORKPLACE.

The ideal workplace is more a Google type of workplace. The creators of Google started out in a garage with only a couple hundred dollars. Then they bought out office space in a warehouse and used wooden doors on top of crates as their desks. They couldn’t afford to buy an expensive, showy office for everyone to see how wonderful they were. They were starting something totally new, creative, and were ready to stun the world with their innovative computer technology and ideas. And they only had an office that was anything but the so called ideal office atmosphere.

But what made the workplace ideal was that it worked for them. They utilized office doors, crates, and sofa chairs to make their workers feel relaxed, happy and ready, willing and able to work. The creators of Google allowed their employees to bring their house pets to work so that they could feel even more like they were at home. Today the creators of Google have a stellar employee restaurant where they create every food imaginable and run it very much like the Google business; by asking the employees what they want to eat. And they are asked to bring their families to work to partake in these dining pleasures. This is the very principal that makes Google what it is today; people working with each other by sharing ideas, and ideals. see how wonderful they were.

“Love lies in the eyes of the beholder”

An ideal workplace is a place where workers are treated with respect and due care. Their needs are well communicated. Expectations are discussed and the organization renders a supportive shoulder in personal problems. As we choose best for our spouse to please him/her on the valentine eve, so does to be practiced by the organization. A worker is more like our life partner who is an asset and is there for longer span of time in the organization. Hence they should be acknowledged for their contributions in addition to this good communication, team work, growth opportunities, positive colleagues and cooperative managers ensure healthy working environment.

Garnished with above measures if served on the platter can turn your date into a PERFECT ONE!!!
